公元2006年十二月十五日下午，我们一行7人，为了追寻传说中的中华秋沙鸭，顶着严寒，奔向武夷山。火车上，青竹大师一路激动高喊着“ 我的鸡啊我的鸭啊,我来了”，一边为大家临阵磨枪，不快也光。[em07]武夷山生态环境特殊，有许多特有物种，每个人都在幻想自己会有多少新增种类收获。当晚很迟才到武夷山市，小小腐败一场，素食为主，有青竹热爱的红菜苔。

桐木关海拔1150米，是福建最北端，武夷山的一处垭口，由江西把守。保护区大门口有个公告说每天上午11点半闭关不再允许车辆上山，贴告示的居然是个旅游公司（福建武夷山绿涛生态旅游公司），让人大皱眉头。福建江西以武夷山为界，界线弯弯曲曲犬牙交错，上山路旁各种告示牌不时提醒我们正在不断越境。顶上已经日照金山了，山腰还笼罩着阴暗。柴油车喘着粗气向上赶，一旁就是万丈悬崖。海拔越高空气越干冷，岩石缝中渗出的水凝结成冰锥、冰挂与小冰瀑，地上密密匝匝的冰针钻破土面，走在上面，鞋底踏出嘎吱嘎吱的响声。一群白鹇在路边觅食，其中一只还是灰乎乎的雄性亚成体，等到冰雪消融山花浪漫的季节，他就该披挂上俊美的白色体羽。

我与泥娃、姜太公从山顶向下走到海拔1700米的护林站。上山时青竹在这附近就下了车往下走，去寻找黄腹角雉，说好了一有发现就通过对讲机联系。本是约定十二点左右在护林站碰头吃面，可我们又在附近溜达半个多小时也没见青竹的影子，对讲机也没有信号，只得放弃对青竹的搜寻，专心找鸟之后回到护林站享用热乎乎的面条。护林站附近树木种类丰富，挺拔的铁杉、红豆杉、柳杉、黄山松与枝条柔美的紫茎相间分布。树高林密，鸟儿真难寻找观察，仰头仰到脖子酸，瞪眼瞪到眼睛疼，我们找到了煤山雀、<a title="0832#" href="http://www.szbird.org.cn/gallery/shouce/b832.htm">普通?</a>、星头啄木鸟、棕头鸦雀。
